On October 2, 2024, Vietnam Airlines will launch its inaugural flight from Munich airport as part of its summer flight schedule. As part of its expansion plan, the Vietnamese flag carrier will operate twice weekly flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Munich in addition to Hanoi and Munich. 

There will be flights to Hanoi, the country's capital, every Monday and Saturday. Tuesdays will see flights to Ho Chi Minh City. The frequency will increase to two flights per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in December 2024. 

With this expansion, Munich Airport becomes the fourth European destination in Vietnam Airlines’ route network, alongside Frankfurt, London-Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
